MY NCAA SEEDING THOUGHTS

NCAA 125 SEEDING THOUGHTS: I feel like 125 is seeded pretty fairly, you have your top 4 being Suriano, Vito, Glory, and Courtney. Their are a decent amount of first round matches that are going to be wild. Including Schroder/Latona, Lamont/Heinselman, Teske/Surtin, Barnett/Cardani. The only issue I have with the bracket is the Hildebrandt/Suriano rd of 16. Penn St definitely got screwed there, but I still see Hilde coming out an AA.

NCAA 133 SEEDING THOUGHTS:

Right off the bat you can already tell whats whack w/ this one. Desanto has been a clear 3 seed throughout the entirety of the season, and has gotten hurt, in the seeding being the #5, because he wrestled tough competition. Don’t get me wrong, Michael Mcgee and Korbin Myers are both very worthy opponents, but they are not on Desanto’s level. Luckily for Desanto, I think a semi vs. RBY is a lot more doable than vs. Fix. Desanto has to just finish his shots and not push for the stalling warning. Desanto cant even touch Fix’s legs so 🤷🏼‍♂️. Good first round matches include Orine/Heilman and Byrd/Ramos. The Mcgee/Fix semi could be a lot of fun to watch, unless fix just dominates every position the entirety of the match.

Desanto NCAA 141 SEEDING THOUGHTS:

So we got Lee, Eierman, Seabass, and Real Woods as your top 4. The only ones I see winning a national title are the top 3. In my opinion, Nick Lee is the standard, he has dominated all year long and scored a lot points doing so. Also, both seabass and jaydin are dealing w some sort of injuries right now, since they mff out of the big 10s. One thing about this bracket is the backside will be wild. Good first rd matches include Carter Young/Grant Willits, Hart/Micic (mizz got f**cked btw), Red/Simon.

3. Woods NCAA 149 LB SEEDING THOUGHTS:

149 is a weird weight to me, just when you look at how the placing could end up. As your top 4 seeds you got yianni, wilson, gomez, and sasso. Yianni leads the pack by a ways, but the only one I can see pulling off an upset would be gomez. He has shown he can be lethal on both upper body and lower body attacks. While im sure sasso was disappointed he didn’t get a semi rematch with gomez, the key for him this weekend would be to wrestle back for 3rd Saturday morning. Also, I can see ridge lovett pulling off the qtr final upset over wilson. Good first rounders include abas/lovett👀, Ogunsanya/Gfeller, that sasso/bartlett 2nd rd into a sasso/parco qtr is brutal too. Also, the gomez/Thomas 2nd rd, but I think gomez will dominate that match.

NCAA 157 LB SEEDING THOUGHTS:

I didn’t realize how stacked this weight was until I looked at the bracket. You have carr, deakin, teemer, and scott as your top seeds. Scott, having a successful freshman campaign, has the potential to make a lot of noise in this tournament. Carr and deakin have looked unbeatable, so that could be an interesting final (style wise). Also, cant forget a deakin v. teemer semi which will be crazy matchup wise. I see deakin just dominating the positions and staying solid for the win. They really messed up w/ berge at 16, who will meet carr in the 2nd round. That one was laughable Good first rds include jacques/lewan, model/franek, wright/saldate.

NCAA 165 LB SEEDING THOUGHTS:

Now this is a crazy bracket! You got solid vetrans including marinelli, wick, griffith. You also got two young studs in o’toole and hamiti. I think the semis will end up with a 1 2 3 4 matchup, which will make for the best semi final weight in the tourney imo. Marinelli and O’Toole present a great style matchup, hes not going to beat o’toole by just holding good position and pushing the pace. To beat o’toole your going to be forced to score a lot of points in that path, I got O’Toole in that one. Don’t be surprised if Hamiti takes out Wick either. Good first rounds include Valencia/Yang and Bullard/Hartman. I also think Hamiti will light up Griffith in the qtrs.

NCAA 174 SEEDING THOUGHTS:

Carter Starocci is the guy to beat at this weight, he has showed great consistency throughout the season and is my pick. Mehki Lewis gets the 2 beating hidlay @ ACCs. Then you have Massa and Hidlay as your 3 and 4. Mikey Labriola got screwed as he is the 9 seed and will wrestle starocci in the qtrs. But michael kemerer mffd to 6th and got the 5 seed, shame on mikey for wrestling through the entire tournament!!!! We as fans want to see day 1s of big tens then the only matches wrestled on day 2 should be the finals bc everyone on the backside mffs. Also I think kem is pretty banged up, I cant see him winning 5 straight. Good first rd matches include finesilver/hastings.

184 LB NCAA SEEDING THOUGHTS:

This bracket is crazy, and the seeding is whack imo. We see guys like Taylor Venz get hurt for wrestling the backside of big tens, as he gets the #10 seed and will wrestle romero in the 2nd rd and brooks in the qtrs (if he wins). Top 4 seeds go amine,brooks,hidlay,keckeisen. Brooks will have a hell of a tournament if he comes out on top as he could have assad,romero, and hidlay just to get to the finals. Also not understanding how Jeremiah Kent gets the #17 seed after he beats marcus coleman twice, and coleman gets the 8 seed… like what in the f^%k! Good first round matches include geer/kent, bolen/assad. Im expecting a final between amine and brooks to be one of the best matches of the tournament. Crazy how amine placed bronze at the olympics and still might not win ncaa’s. COLLEGE WRESTLING IS BRUTALLY TOUGH!

197 LB NCAA SEEDING THOUGHTS:

I don’t know if I don’t watch enough 197 wrestling, but this weight does not seem that deep to me after looking through the seeds. Max Dean is your one seed (and my pick to win, but im iffey). Then it goes buchanan, schultz, brucki. One of the highlight semis will be Brucki v. Dean because of the team race with MICH/PSU. With that, I’m not really sure how Caffey landed the #9 seed. He will have to face dean in the qtrs. The bottom qtr of the bracket is a toss up to me, the 3 standouts down there are Elam, Bastida, and Buchanan. I think Bastida wrestles well against hard nose low point scoring guys (ex. Elam and Buchanan) so I got Bastida in the semis against the #6 seed Warner. Good first round matches include hoffman/sloan, amos/bastida.

NCAA HWT SEEDING THOUGHTS:

Gable with the NCAA Championship! Congrats Gable… but my top 4 below that are cass, parris, hendrickson, and kerk. I dont know why I sleep on Schultz but hopefully he proves me wrong. I got parris and cass in the bottom semi, meaning parris gets the #7 over #2 upset over schultz. Then hendrickson and gable on the top side, I think hendrickson and kerk will be a showdown.
